What is Root Canal?

The purpose of root canal treatment is to keep the intended tooth in the mouth for a long time. It is a type of treatment applied to the teeth with hypersensitivity to hot and cold foods and having night pain. In a root canal treatment, living tissues (nerves and vessels) in the root canal of the tooth are removed and the canal space is cleared by disinfectant solution and canal arches. The canal space is filled with biocompatible materials in a leak-proof manner.

If there is no discharge at the end of this period, treatment can be completed. In stubborn situations, this treatment can be repeated for several weeks. When there is no sign of inflammation in the canals, root canals are filled in a hermetic and leak-proof way and the root canal treatment is completed.
